About This Opportunity

We are a backend operations partner for one of the United States' largest construction companies and have established a Global Delivery Center (GDC) to support its projects. The GDC supports complex infrastructure and commercial projects, including towers and mission-critical facilities.

As the GDC expands, we are building a team of engineering professionals based in Gurugram to support U.S. construction sites. This role offers exposure to American construction practices, project engineering, and VDC strategy from our Intec office in Gurugram.

This is not a traditional CAD/Revit position. The work begins after LOD 300 and focuses on strategic project engineering activities, including change orders, submittals, RFIs, and quantity take-offs that affect project profitability and schedules.

Role Overview: Senior Project Manager — Project Engineering

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the administrative and technical management of GDC project engineering delivery. This includes change order review, submittal and shop drawing review, RFI management, document control, quantity take-offs, and owner requisition processing for assigned U.S. project sites. The Senior Project Manager serves as a key link between executive leadership, clients, and field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project engineering support for assigned U.S. commercial and civil job sites, including change order review and cost-impact validation; submittal and shop drawing review against contract specifications and design drawings; and RFI pre-screening and technical drafting for the design team.
  • Administer document control systems, including Procore and Primavera P6, to maintain accurate drawing logs, revision tracking, and contract archives across active projects.
  • Lead quantity take-offs and estimation across structural, MEP, and civil disciplines to support pre-construction, bidding, and change management.
  • Manage the owner requisition cycle by gathering, verifying, and submitting payment requisitions to support timely project billing and cash flow.
  • Oversee material tracking and site logistics coordination, monitoring subcontractor procurement timelines and delivery schedules in partnership with the U.S. site team.
  • Supervise, train, and develop team members assigned to the project engineering vertical, from entry-level engineers to team leads.
  • Schedule and facilitate project coordination meetings, including daily and weekly update calls with U.S.-based project managers and site leadership.
  • Maintain knowledge of major project issues and priorities, and prepare weekly job status reports for executive leadership.
  • Maintain QA/QC standards and protocols across the company and on individual projects, including BIM/VDC deliverables using Revit, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Navisworks.
  • Provide administrative and technical leadership for assigned projects, maintain project records, and monitor correspondence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for initial estimating on new engagements by scoping the hours and resources required for execution, and support the business development team with related proposal responses.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts across the GDC and U.S. entities.
  • Identify opportunities to apply process automation and AI tools to change order tracking, submittal logs, RFI workflows, and other project engineering processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. A graduate degree in engineering or business is a plus.
  • 8+ years of U.S. commercial or civil construction experience. Prior experience within a Global Capability Center (GCC), Global Delivery Center (GDC), or the India delivery arm of a U.S. general contractor or AEC firm is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Procore and Primavera P6 for document control and scheduling, as well as Autodesk Revit, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Navisworks for coordination with the VDC team.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in at least three of the following areas: change order review, submittal or shop drawing review, RFI management, quantity take-offs or estimation in structural, MEP, or civil disciplines, and owner requisition processing.
  • Project management accreditation or industry affiliation, such as PMP or CCM, is preferred.
  • Experience managing projects from start to finish, including direct exposure to U.S.-based general contractor site operations.
  • Ability to negotiate and build relationships with multiple stakeholders across time zones, including overlap with U.S. business hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, including at least five years of supervisory experience leading multi-tier engineering or BIM/VDC teams of 15 or more people.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills for formal correspondence, RFI drafting, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
