Senior Accountant – Accounting & Tax Manager (Belgian Entity)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Tax Manager to oversee end-to-end accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting for the Belgian entity. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders and the corporate team in India while ensuring compliance with Belgian law.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounting for the Belgian entity, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Oversee statutory compliance and filings, including VAT and corporate tax filings, filing deadlines, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare financial reports for the Belgian entity and reporting for the corporate team in India.
• Support accounting activities related to R&D, sales, and warehousing operations.
• Manage relationships with the external tax consultant, audit partner, banks, and government authorities as needed.
• Provide commercial and finance support to internal stakeholders, including the R&D and sales teams.
• Coordinate with the corporate team in India on group and Indian reporting requirements while maintaining compliance with Belgian law.
• Build and mentor a team as operations scale.

Required Qualifications

• 7–12 years of relevant experience in accounting, tax, and compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Experience with Belgian VAT and corporate tax filings.
• Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
• Experience managing relationships with audit partners, banks, tax consultants, and government authorities.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems, including SAP.
• Professional fluency in English and working knowledge of French or another EU language.
• Authorisation to work in Belgium.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills and a mature, level-headed approach.
• Interest in a scientific environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience setting up a subsidiary.
• Exposure to manufacturing or R&D environments.
