Join our Innovation Centre's energy storage team in Ghislenghien as a junior Research Technician. We are dedicated to developing conductive additives and active materials for lithium-ion batteries, contributing to the energy transition.

Our Innovation Centre team currently comprises approximately 15 individuals focused on advancing battery material technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Innovation Support: Generate essential data to drive in-house product innovation.
• Battery Fabrication & Testing: Conduct in-house battery fabrication and performance testing to support R&D efforts.
• Data Analysis: Collect, document, and analyze physical and electrochemical performance data to inform R&D decisions.
• Formulation & Chemistry: Contribute to the development and optimization of battery formulations and chemistries.
• Laboratory Practices: Support and maintain R&D laboratory practices.
• Equipment Management: Manage and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure reliable performance and adherence to quality standards.
• Inventory Control: Track, organize, and replenish laboratory chemicals and consumables.
• Capability Development: Assist in the setup, installation, and commissioning of new laboratory equipment and testing capabilities.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain a safe, well-documented laboratory environment.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
• Prior experience in lithium-ion battery fabrication is a significant advantage.
• Hands-on experience in an R&D laboratory setting, including work within controlled atmospheres (e.g., glovebox).
• Experience handling hazardous chemicals (e.g., powders, nano-powders, organic compounds, acids/bases).
• Familiarity with materials characterization techniques (e.g., conductivity, BET surface area, TGA, OAN, pycnometer, particle size analysis, electrochemical methods).
