CNC Mill Machinist

Position Overview

A growing precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling machines that produce complex, high-tolerance components. This role is suited to a machinist who enjoys setup work, process improvement, programming edits, and quality-focused manufacturing.

Schedule: Full-time, on-site; first shift, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Perform work offsets, tool changes, and setup adjustments.
• Edit G-code programs at the machine as needed.
• Optimize feeds, speeds, and tooling selection.
• Produce prototype and production components to tight tolerances.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators.
• Troubleshoot dimensional and machining issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC milling experience.
• Strong setup and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience editing CNC programs at the machine.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
• Experience holding tight tolerances.
• Familiarity with Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with 3-, 4-, or 5-axis milling.
• Experience with Haas, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar controls.
• CMM inspection experience.
• Aerospace, medical, or high-precision manufacturing experience.
