About the Group

We’re a global conglomerate with diversified interests in international trading, shipping and logistics, real estate, and infrastructure development. Founded in 1957, the Group is headquartered in Chennai and has a significant presence in India, Singapore, the UAE, Uganda, and the Maldives. We are united by a philosophy of growing mindfully and inclusively, with a strong commitment to quality and integrity.

Building on the Group’s entrepreneurial legacy, our Founder and CEO has been actively engaged in advising business families on governance, estate planning, and succession planning. As part of the next phase of growth, the Group is expanding into multi-family office, wealth, and investment management.

About the Role

We are building an independent, advisory-led multi-family office (MFO) for promoter families, entrepreneurs, and HNIs, focused on preserving and growing wealth and supporting intergenerational stewardship. We seek a senior, entrepreneurial professional to work closely with the Founder in building and scaling the MFO.

This leadership-track role combines investment expertise, family financial analysis, portfolio construction, client advisory, team building, and execution. It is not a product-distribution or sales-led wealth management role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses of families, covering assets, liabilities, investments, business interests, cash flows, and liquidity requirements; prepare net-worth statements, wealth dashboards, and periodic portfolio reviews.
  • Draft and review Investment Policy Statements (IPS) covering investment objectives, risk parameters, liquidity, and strategic asset allocation.
  • Design customised portfolios aligned with each family’s objectives, risk appetite, and liquidity needs; review performance, risk, concentration, diversification, costs, and suitability.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities across mutual funds, PMS, AIFs, fixed income, global funds, private equity, VC, angel investments, pre-IPO and unlisted investments, real estate funds, sector and thematic funds, mergers and acquisitions, and other alternatives.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of leading Indian and global fund houses, wealth managers, investment managers, and platforms; independently evaluate and challenge external recommendations.
  • Coordinate broader family-office requirements, including estate and succession planning, taxation, trusts and ownership structures, risk management, family governance, philanthropy, CSR, and legacy planning.
  • Build trusted relationships with promoter families and coordinate execution across banks, fund managers, lawyers, tax advisors, and other specialists.
  • Help build institutional-quality investment processes, due-diligence frameworks, reporting systems, and technology-enabled dashboards for the MFO.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-quality team across investments, research, analytics, operations, and client servicing as the MFO scales.
  • Demonstrate strong people management, delegation, decision-making, and execution capabilities.
  • Create a culture of ownership, accountability, excellence, confidentiality, and client-first thinking.
  • Lead multiple internal and external stakeholders and manage complex client relationships with maturity and discretion.
  • Translate strategy into clear priorities, establish scalable processes, and progressively assume greater responsibility for managing and growing the MFO.

Ideal Candidate

  • 10–15+ years of relevant experience in a family office, multi-family office, wealth management, private banking, investment management, or a similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of asset allocation, portfolio construction, investment analysis, and traditional and alternative investment strategies.
  • Experience with HNI/UHNI or promoter-family portfolios, including financial analysis, IPS drafting, and customised portfolio design.
  • Strong knowledge of leading fund houses, investment managers, and wealth-management strategies in India and globally.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team-building, analytical, communication, and relationship-management capabilities.
  • High integrity, discretion, and confidentiality, with an entrepreneurial, hands-on, and ownership-oriented mindset.

Career Opportunity

The successful candidate will work closely with the Founder and progressively assume greater responsibility for investments, client relationships, team leadership, and the MFO’s growth, with the potential to evolve into a senior leadership role as the platform scales.
