As a Corporate Tax Manager, you will be a member of the corporate tax practice, supporting business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting projects, including tax provision preparation and audit support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements from planning through completion, including executing, directing, and completing tax projects while managing to budget.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor senior associates, associates, and interns; assess staff performance; and serve in an in-charge role as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing and prospective clients.
  • Review tax returns prepared by staff and recommend improvements related to accuracy and tax-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct primary reviews of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements.
  • Research and consult on tax matters, using tax-related software to prepare and process returns.
  • Respond to inquiries from the IRS, state agencies, and other tax authorities.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and collaborate effectively with client management and staff at all levels.
  • Develop an understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives.
  • Participate regularly in professional development and training sessions.
  • Uphold high professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 4–7 years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience.
  • CPA license or JD with an active law license required.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience in corporate income tax and strong knowledge of ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, tax accounting, and technology skills, including proficiency in U.S. GAAP and corporate income tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of statutory income tax compliance and consulting, including state and local income taxes, international taxation, and transfer pricing.
  • Strong client service, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
