Cost Estimator

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, RFQs, tenders, and customer quotations.
• Interpret and analyze engineering, fabrication, and HVAC drawings.
• Extract Bills of Materials and calculate material, labour, manufacturing, and subcontractor costs.
• Maintain costing spreadsheets, pricing models, and databases using strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Prepare professional tender documentation, pricing submissions, and commercial proposals.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, production, procurement, and sales teams to develop accurate and competitive pricing solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Cost Engineering.
• 2–3 years of experience in cost estimation or technical pricing within an engineering, manufacturing, or construction environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in preparing detailed cost estimates, RFQs, tenders, and customer quotations.
• Proven ability to interpret and analyze engineering, fabrication, and HVAC drawings, and to extract Bills of Materials for cost calculation (material, labour, manufacturing, and subcontractor costs).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience maintaining costing spreadsheets, pricing models, and databases.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Commercially aware, highly organised, and capable of managing multiple quotations and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience within steel fabrication, fasteners, HVAC, manufacturing, or engineering environments will be advantageous.
