Role overview

We are seeking a hands-on technology executive and player-coach to serve as Chief Technology Officer. The role combines strategic planning with operational engineering leadership, overseeing the engineering team supporting the Managed Services Provider, Federal Consulting, and NG9-1-1 Interoperability Test Lab business lines. The CTO will ensure engagements meet high standards for reliability and security.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in IP networking, cybersecurity, Voice over IP (VoIP), and public safety communications.

Responsibilities

  • Translate company goals and business requirements into engineering roadmaps, and lead those roadmaps through deployment.
  • Oversee daily engineering operations, including resource optimization, milestones, and budget discipline.
  • Lead cybersecurity efforts to harden mission-critical communications platforms against emerging threats.
  • Coach and develop the engineering team, manage performance, and support strategic hiring.
  • Partner with company executives on technical direction and delivery.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience managing engineering teams and complex project lifecycles.
  • 10+ years of hands-on telecommunications and network engineering experience.
  • Deep knowledge of IP networking, VoIP, cybersecurity, Next Generation 911, and emergency communications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electrical Engineering.

Schedule and work arrangement

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The office is in Winchester, Virginia; a hybrid schedule may be considered for employees outside the area.
