Role Summary

The Accounting Operations Supervisor leads a team of accounting operations professionals to deliver accurate, timely, and controlled transaction processing and accounting support. This role sets clear expectations, manages weekly execution, and drives impactful process improvements that strengthen performance and the control environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team by providing coaching, guidance, and mentorship. Establish clear expectations and goals, and continuously monitor performance.
  • Direct and review team work to ensure optimal workflow and productivity. This includes assigning tasks based on skills and expertise, and providing clear instructions and constructive feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, adapting communication style to audience and situation.
  • Clearly explain and reinforce policies, practices, and procedures. Provide guidance to ensure team understanding and compliance.
  • Identify and implement impactful adjustments to procedures and processes to resolve issues. Analyze current processes and apply improvement methodologies to enhance effectiveness.
  • Resolve complex operational issues through critical thinking, leveraging experience, and analyzing broader impacts and underlying operating principles.
  • Drive operational performance by setting targets, prioritizing work, and monitoring results. Take proactive action to ensure goals are met and department outcomes are continuously improved.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
  • Experience leading and coaching a team in an accounting operations, finance operations, or transaction-processing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to assign/review work, manage priorities, and deliver weekly operational objectives.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain policies/procedures clearly and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving ability, including analyzing issues with broader operational impacts and implementing process changes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields.
  • Experience driving process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with controlled financial operations environments.
