Assembly Production Supervisor

As a Production Supervisor, you will be a first-line leader supporting team members within your designated area. Your primary responsibility will be coordinating day-to-day activities to meet scheduled production requirements and ensure your team's success. We are seeking a results-driven individual to lead and support our high-performance production team in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. This key leadership role upholds a safety-first culture, emphasizes continuous improvement, and exemplifies servant leadership to foster an engaged and motivated workforce.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead safety initiatives to cultivate a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
• Educate, train, and motivate production team members on safety protocols and procedures.
• Create an environment of continuous improvement and safety awareness for all team members.
• Empower and expect every team member to contribute to continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate a core value of respectful treatment of all team members in every discussion, interaction, and decision.
• Coach and mentor production team members on best practices for safety and productivity.
• Strive to eliminate risks and waste, and develop team member skills to improve lean operations.
• Ensure employees are properly trained by their Team Leader or other designated trainer in safety, quality, equipment operation, and 5S.
• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages team feedback and participation in safety initiatives.
• Interface with technical staff to ensure proper support.
• Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating metrics.
• Work to continuously improve processes and reduce inventories and work in progress.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues.
• Interface with Union Stewards on contract and discipline issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Experience, and Education:

• Proven ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
• A minimum of one to three years of experience in a medium/high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on safety practices is preferred.
• Previous manufacturing supervision experience is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations is preferred.
• Previous professional, internship, or co-op experience will be considered as relevant experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities, including providing coaching, mentoring, and supervision within a team environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Strong problem-solving skills, including encouraging team members to think proactively and create solutions.
• Basic understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban, and Lean manufacturing is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
