Associate Structural Engineer

Provide technical leadership, support, and mentoring while ensuring project delivery and commercial performance. Represent the organization on-site for a large-scale construction project in New York City.

Key Responsibilities

• Set a strong example in client care and consultancy, supporting the regional team to do the same.
• Represent the organization at internal and external design team meetings, lead projects, and maintain productive client relationships across the region.
• Conduct site observations, participate in site meetings, and respond to contractor queries in the field.
• Lead analysis and design of structural systems for a range of building types in accordance with applicable building codes.
• Manage and mentor engineering and drafting staff, overseeing preparation of contract documents, including drawings and specifications.
• Participate in technical and quality reviews.
• Develop the structural engineering practice’s reputation across project sizes and types in the region.
• Engage with local industry groups and events aligned with the team’s goals.

Qualifications and Experience

• 10+ years of significant experience leading structural engineering projects or teams across a variety of sectors.
• Experience leading structural engineering projects during construction.
• Master’s degree.
• Licensed as a PE and/or SE.
• Ability to build cooperation among internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and staff.
• Confident, proactive approach with a track record of taking the lead.
• Proven client relationship management and project delivery experience.
• Strong interest in work-winning.
