Audio Annotator – Japanese

Role overview

Participate as a Japanese speaker in a multi-speaker diarization project by taking part in natural, unscripted group conversations on assigned topics. Respond to other speakers and contribute realistic discussions using appropriate emotion, personality, and tone. This is a group conversation, not a solo recording or individual speech sample.

Responsibilities

  • Join the assigned session at the specified date, time, and time zone.
  • Discuss assigned topics naturally with other speakers.
  • Speak regularly, respond to others, ask and answer questions, and contribute fairly.
  • Follow topic guidance and keep the discussion interactive rather than reading a script or delivering a formal speech.
  • Use natural conversational reactions, including brief overlaps and backchannels where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Comfortable speaking and interacting in a group conversation.
  • Available for the full assigned session.
  • Willing to contribute actively throughout the session.
  • Able to follow instructions and discuss topics naturally without a script.
  • Able to provide the required recording environment and microphone setup.

Recording setup

A proper external microphone with wired headphones is preferred. A good-quality wired headset with a built-in microphone is acceptable if it provides clear, unmuffled audio; a basic or low-quality headset is insufficient. Laptop speakers, Bluetooth earphones, and open speakers are not acceptable during recording.

Use the same microphone, headphones, and device for the session as for the application audio sample. Record in a quiet room without background noise, and position the microphone consistently. Speak clearly at a natural volume and avoid echo, reverb, distortion, clipping, typing, tapping, or handling the device near the microphone.

Engagement and duration

This is a flexible agreement for a six-week project, not a full-time or part-time employment position. A contract extension may be possible depending on performance and project needs. The listing states a partner fee of $30 after onboarding and training; no participant pay rate is provided.
