Overview
The Business Developer generates new business by qualifying opportunities and engaging key decision-makers through phone and in-person sales calls. This role requires confidence in selling essential services, disciplined daily execution, and strong consultative selling skills, including active listening, effective questioning, and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities
- Generate an average of two new clients per week.
- Qualify prospects by assessing client needs, budget, and timeline using the Discovery Profile.
- Respond to buying signals and ask the four job-qualifying questions.
- Secure meetings between decision-makers and Employment Specialists for urgent job-order fulfillment.
- Educate decision-makers about the staffing process and introduce staffing agreements and new-account paperwork.
- Collaborate with Employment Specialists to move job orders toward fulfillment and identify opportunities for sales reengagement.
- Generate sales opportunities through networking, referrals, outbound activities, and face-to-face visits.
- Complete approximately 120 weekly sales calls, including 100 face-to-face visits and at least 60 decision-maker conversations.
- Conduct five strategic appointments per week.
- Document daily sales activity in the automated system and maintain next steps in the sales pipeline.
- Execute daily sales plans, address objections, and record outcomes in the Results Pipeline Activity tracker.
- Develop and manage a sales action plan covering 800–1,000 accounts quarterly.
- Identify high-potential prospects capable of closing within 90 days and maintain a Top 20 target-account list.
- Prepare daily territory plans and divide the market into geographic sales divisions.
- Apply a value-added, consultative sales approach based on labor-market trends and educational campaigns.
- Cultivate existing client relationships, identify additional needs, and cross-sell products and services.
- Participate in approved local organizations to build relationships and generate leads.
- Coordinate daily with the internal team, share territory plans and leads, and pass job orders to Employment Specialists.
- Follow company procedures and applicable federal and state regulations, including FLSA, Title VII, ADA, and FMLA.
- Develop staffing-industry knowledge through coaching, ride-alongs, and hands-on training.
Working Conditions and Requirements
- Work is primarily conducted away from the local office in office and plant environments.
- Frequent travel is required, including exposure to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions.
- Must work effectively under travel demands, deadlines, commitments, and account-related issues.
- Must hold a valid state driver's license.
- Must be able to climb stairs and carry marketing materials.
