Gas Turbine Commissioning Technician/Specialist

Work Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts: seven days on, followed by seven days off

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical expertise on gas turbine systems during commissioning, startup, and operations for power and energy infrastructure, including BESS, substations, and generation assets.
  • Support safe and efficient commissioning and system turnover, including coordination of FAT/SAT activities, systemization, and punch-list closure.
  • Execute commissioning plans, procedures, and test protocols.
  • Review technical test reports and complete commissioning records and technical reports.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings, commissioning readiness reviews, and post-event summaries for project leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Identify root causes of equipment issues and implement corrective actions to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Adopt new technologies and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support commissioning activities.

Requirements

  • Industry experience maintaining or troubleshooting gas turbine engines.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Experience with Siemens SGT-800 and A-35 gas turbines preferred.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as the top priority.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PC applications.
  • Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and travel between locations.
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions and at elevated levels while wearing required PPE.
  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Working Conditions

  • Work in extreme temperatures, loud environments, and confined spaces.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and team-lift heavier loads.
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, and squat for extended periods.
  • Work at elevated levels using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts with appropriate PPE.
  • Use hand tools and mechanical diagnostic equipment.
  • Work occasional night, holiday, and other shifts.
