Role Overview

We are seeking a General Manager 4 to lead the campus food service account at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

UNCSA is a public conservatory and arts school offering professional training in performing, visual, and moving-image arts. The account includes a residential dining hall, a coffee shop, two retail locations, a convenience store, catering, and vending in the Artist Village residential area.

We provide college campuses with food, nutrition, environmental, and facilities management solutions. This campus-based role offers the opportunity to support student well-being and contribute to a healthy learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day food service operations.
• Deliver high-quality food service.
• Achieve company and client financial targets and goals.
• Develop and maintain client and customer relationships.
• Develop and implement strategic plans.
• Create a positive work environment.
• Ensure Sodexo standards are met.
• Direct contract services and oversee the management and administrative team.
• Supervise special functions, cash-control activities, and payroll processes.
• Support customer and client satisfaction.
• Drive growth and manage financial performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated employee engagement and leadership skills, with previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate professionally, and provide a high level of customer service.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and remain flexible when taking on additional responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of food management systems, computer applications, and report management.
• Valid driver’s license.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Five years of management experience.
• Five years of functional experience.

Position Summary

Direct all contract management service operations at a single account or unit. Plan and supervise special functions, maintain cash-control and payroll records, hire and train unit personnel, and maintain customer satisfaction and positive public relations. Manage through managers and remain accountable for the contract as the senior-most person assigned to a single-client account.

Provide local leadership and strategic direction while developing the team and supporting new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in day-to-day operations.
