Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer will provide engineering support for natural gas or petrochemical operations, with a focus on electrical infrastructure, voltage systems, equipment reliability, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance. This contract role independently manages mid-sized technical assignments, coordinates contractors, evaluates operational requirements, and develops practical improvements while maintaining customer satisfaction and high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute moderately complex electrical engineering assignments involving technical evaluation, innovation, and professional judgment.
- Support electrical equipment maintenance, outages, reliability improvements, and operational infrastructure projects.
- Develop and maintain condition-based maintenance programs for electrical equipment.
- Maintain electrical drawings and review management-of-change plans and work plans.
- Coordinate third-party contractors and collaborate with internal teams to meet project, training, compliance, and safety objectives.
- Coordinate and review arc-flash studies and implement recommended improvements.
- Interpret customer and operational requirements, prepare presentations, and provide appropriate engineering responses.
- Apply company procedures, governing regulations, National Electrical Code requirements, and industry-standard methodologies.
- Promote safety standards, identify improvement opportunities, and perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Skills: Electrical engineering; industrial power and voltage systems; equipment reliability; electrical maintenance; arc-flash analysis; electrical drawing management; contractor coordination; project management; regulatory compliance; Microsoft Office; and technical presentation skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited institution, or a relevant Engineering Technology degree with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Experience: At least four years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry. FE certification and project management experience are preferred.
