Responsibilities

  • Design minor electrical circuits and test and troubleshoot electrical, PLC, and electronic circuits used to control machines and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
  • Install electrical and electronic controls on machines and equipment by interpreting schematics and blueprints.
  • Maintain knowledge of electrical power and water distribution systems.
  • Perform basic mechanical repairs.
  • Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical components, including brushes and armatures.
  • Install and monitor electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, and replacement needs.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, test, repair, and adjust electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring, panels, breakers, conduit, and new services.
  • Mount motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures and complete circuits according to diagram specifications.
  • Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits and equipment using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Group Leader.
  • May direct the work of employees in lower classifications.

Qualifications

  • Two-year associate degree required.
  • Two to four years of relevant work experience required.
  • Ability to use a computer to search for parts and enter maintenance work into a CMMS.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving sitting, manual dexterity, stooping, and bending.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, as assessed during a pre-employment physical and baseline test.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
