Fashion Designer – Customer & Field Operations

Silaio is a fashion-tech startup offering custom fashion through doorstep consultations. We are seeking a creative, customer-focused Fashion Designer – Customer & Field Operations to join our team. This field-based role combines fashion design with direct customer engagement.

About the Role

You will conduct personalized fashion consultations at customer homes or other designated locations, manage multiple daily appointments, and travel within your assigned territory. The role requires confidence, strong customer service, independent appointment management, and regular local travel. You must be able to operate a two-wheeler and hold a valid driving license.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct fashion consultations and design discussions at customers’ homes or other designated locations.
• Understand customers’ preferences, occasions, fabric choices, and desired aesthetics.
• Recommend customized designs, styles, patterns, necklines, sleeves, silhouettes, and finishing details.
• Take accurate customer measurements and assess fitting requirements.
• Help customers select designs suited to their preferences, occasion, and fabric choices.
• Explain design concepts clearly and professionally.
• Coordinate with the Silaio design team to communicate customer requirements accurately.
• Maintain customer details, measurements, design references, and order information according to established processes.
• Capture photographs or design details as needed for order documentation.
• Follow up with customers regarding design confirmations, measurements, and other order-related needs.
• Travel within the assigned territory for customer visits and appointments.
• Represent Silaio professionally and provide a positive customer experience from consultation through order completion.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in fashion design or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in fashion design, boutique operations, tailoring, styling, or another customer-facing fashion role.
• Strong understanding of women’s fashion, including garments, fabrics, fits, and styling.
• Proficiency in taking measurements and understanding garment construction.
• A creative eye for fashion and customization.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfort with fieldwork and local travel.
• Ability to operate a two-wheeler and hold a valid driving license.
• Ability to manage customer appointments independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of women’s ethnic and western wear.
• Experience designing suits, kurtis, blouses, dresses, or custom outfits.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Experience in customer consultation and styling.
• Skills in fabric and color coordination.
• Basic understanding of tailoring and garment construction.
• A keen sense of fit and attention to detail.
