About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Fire Pump Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation, servicing, testing, and maintenance of various fire pump systems, including diesel and electric pumps, as well as associated jockey pumps and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, service, test, and maintain fire pump systems (diesel and electric).
• Service and maintain jockey pumps and their control systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults on fire pump control panels.
• Perform pump servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Test and commission new fire pump installations.
• Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults within fire pump systems.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of sprinkler and hydrant fire water systems.
• Accurately complete service reports, test certificates, and all related documentation.

Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Proven practical experience in the installation, servicing, testing, fault-finding, maintenance, and commissioning of fire pump systems.
• Demonstrated expertise with:
  • Diesel and electric fire pumps.
  • Jockey pumps and their control systems.
  • Fire pump control panels, including electrical fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Strong ability to identify and diagnose both mechanical and electrical faults within fire pump systems.
• Sound understanding of sprinkler and hydrant fire water systems.
• Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to accurately complete service reports and test certificates.
