About the Company

Liquid is a trading platform that enables users to trade perpetual markets in stocks, pre-IPO companies, indices, commodities, foreign exchange, and crypto, as well as prediction markets on real-world events. Its non-custodial app brings trading into conversational interfaces, including ChatGPT, Claude, and iMessage, through products such as Co-Invest.

The company has raised $25 million, including a Series A backed by Paradigm, Left Lane Capital, and NEO. It has approximately $7 million–$8 million in annualized gross revenue, around 50% gross margin, and is growing rapidly. The small, flat team is made up of senior operators and plans to expand into an institutional business.

About the Role

Join the team responsible for reliability, automation, and user experience across a mobile trading platform used by tens of thousands of traders. The role combines strong coding ability and product judgment to build fast, high-performance trading systems and intuitive mobile experiences. Work covers the core trading app and newer products such as Co-Invest, the company's AI trading agent.

Engineers own product areas end to end, make technical and product decisions in close collaboration with designers and engineers, and ship quickly while protecting core systems. This is a high-intensity role for experienced engineers seeking significant impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build interactive, intuitive experiences for a mobile trading platform.
  • Build highly performant, low-latency trading systems.
  • Improve platform reliability and automation as usage scales.
  • Shape technical and product direction with designers and engineers.
  • Own features end to end, from product decisions through implementation, across the core app and products such as Co-Invest.

Requirements

Must-have

  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in a high-velocity startup or similarly demanding environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously, own product areas, identify problems, make decisions, and execute with limited direction.
  • Strong attention to craft, detail, and reliability, with a record of moving quickly without repeatedly breaking core systems.
  • Genuine passion for trading and financial markets.
  • Willingness to work in person in New York. Visa sponsorship is available for exceptional candidates.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in trading, fintech, markets, or adjacent financial products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field; academic performance is considered a meaningful signal.
  • Experience with React and Python.
  • Open-source contributions or a background in trading or Olympiad competitions.
