Inpatient Pharmacy Manager

Job Summary

This leadership position facilitates collaboration with acute care leaders to implement pharmacy strategic priorities across inpatient pharmacy practice settings. The role partners with national, regional, and local pharmacy leadership to maintain and improve inpatient operational performance across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality of pharmaceutical care and services across practice settings, with a focus on inpatient pharmacy.
• Maintain regulatory and corporate compliance.
• Provide consultative feedback to drug use management leadership.
• Oversee the development of acute care pharmacy supervisory personnel.
• Build relationships with medical center leaders and staff, including laboratory, nursing, and physician teams.
• Approve revisions to compounding master formulas and formulary dispensing records.
• Use drug availability and supply data to inform strategic inventory management.

Essential Responsibilities

• Leadership and Talent Development: Create development opportunities; hire, train, and develop talent; establish performance-management guidelines; and drive performance improvement through coaching and feedback.
• Team Management: Translate business plans into tactical action items, manage budgets, oversee work assignments, and align team efforts with operational objectives.
• Drug Therapy Management: Oversee drug use management across multiple teams and locations, develop pharmacotherapeutic drug regimen guidelines, and forecast the impact of new drugs.
• Patient Care: Oversee pharmaceutical patient care, design therapeutic regimens, and manage drug initiatives and formulary management activities.
• Compliance: Lead teams in monitoring services for compliance with DEA, state board of pharmacy, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy, completion of a PGY1 residency, and at least three (3) years of experience as a pharmacist or pharmacist intern; or
• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy and at least five (5) years of experience as a pharmacist or pharmacist intern.
• At least two (2) years of experience managing operational or project budgets.
• At least three (3) years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports.
• Washington pharmacist license required at hire.
• National Provider Identifier required within six (6) months of hire.
