Lab Technician (Second Shift, 10-Hour Shifts)

Conduct tests on products, components, and work in progress to assess conformity to specifications and proper functioning. Document, analyze, and communicate test results; retest as needed; operate and maintain testing software and equipment; and contribute to defining test criteria.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare tests by reviewing objectives, standards, methods, conditions, and equipment.
• Select and calibrate appropriate test equipment.
• Assemble and disassemble components before and after testing.
• Conduct performance, environmental, and operational tests to validate product capability and reliability, and document outcomes in test logs.
• Collect and record test data.
• Maintain a safe testing environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Maintain the test information database, including data entry and backups.
• Keep test equipment operational by following instructions, troubleshooting issues, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and arranging repairs.
• Adapt to change and seek opportunities for improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Mechanical skills.
• Mechanical testing and/or automotive technician experience.
• High school graduate; degree preferred.

Schedule

Second shift, with 10-hour shifts available Wednesday–Saturday or Sunday–Wednesday. Applicants should indicate their preferred schedule at the top of their résumé; the hiring manager will make the final assignment.
