Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead employee relations and recruiting efforts at our Rochester facility. This role ensures compliance with company policies and federal and state employment regulations, manages HR staff, and serves as a trusted resource to leaders and employees. You will join a purpose-driven organization innovating across the aerospace, defense, medical, and semiconductor industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer HR plans and procedures; assist with developing and implementing personnel policies; and maintain the employee handbook.
  • Lead recruiting and employee relations efforts while promoting compliance, fairness, and consistency.
  • Manage and develop HR administrators and generalists; establish department goals and drive process improvements.
  • Serve as a resource to leaders, managers, and employees regarding employee concerns, counseling, and conflict resolution.
  • Handle unemployment claims and legal matters, attend hearings, and collaborate with in-house counsel.
  • Interview, recruit, and onboard new hires; recommend disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
  • Conduct plant tours and audits related to computer use, attendance, and HR records, and present HR information at employee meetings.

Qualifications

  • Skills: Extensive recruiting and employee relations expertise; strong knowledge of employment law and compliance; familiarity with continuous improvement tools, Microsoft Office, and conferencing software; and strong negotiation, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience approved by executive management.
  • Attributes: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; discretion and confidentiality; leadership and coaching ability; strong attention to detail; ability to work with diverse groups with minimal supervision; and effective multitasking and organizational skills.
