Manufacturing Engineer Technician (MET) — Swiss/CNC Programmer and Machinist

About the Role

This highly technical role involves taking parts from drawings or CAD models through programming, setup, prove-out, first-article approval, and production release. It is a hands-on position that combines CNC programming, machining, and manufacturing engineering support.

Key Responsibilities

CNC Programming and Process Development

• Create CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
• Develop machining strategies from drawings and CAD models.
• Select appropriate tooling and machining processes.
• Optimize cycle times and machining efficiency.

Setup, Prove-Out, and Production Release

• Perform machine setups and run first articles.
• Prove out new programs and validate dimensions and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot machining issues.
• Release jobs into production.

Manufacturing Support

• Provide technical support to machinists.
• Support engineering changes.
• Troubleshoot production challenges and improve manufacturing processes.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with CNC programming and CAD/CAM software.
• Hands-on experience with machine setup and first-article inspection.
• Strong blueprint-reading and dimensional-troubleshooting skills.
• Experience providing production support in a precision-manufacturing environment.
