Shift: Primarily 3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM) with potential for 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM). This is a unionized facility, where seniority drives shift assignments and scheduling. Flexibility for work days, including Saturdays or Sundays, is required.

Assignment Details:

• Extension Possibility: Yes
• Conversion to Full-Time: Possible, based on worker performance. Conversion requires joining the onsite union.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience; food manufacturing equipment experience is ideal.
• Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs.
• Ammonia and Boiler knowledge preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
• Ability to read and understand technical prints.
• Basic working knowledge of PLCs.
• Basic welding, machining, and fabrication skills.
• Proficiency with basic shop and power tools.
• Ability to work in noisy environments.
• Understanding of Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures and ability to follow instructions.
• Experience starting and stopping production machinery.
• Ability to adjust production machinery.
• Accurate documentation of process forms, equipment downtime, and work orders.
• Previous forklift or powered equipment experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior maintenance experience in a high-speed manufacturing plant is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure operation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, tools, conveyer systems, and production machines.
• Adhere to diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions across various equipment types.
• Identify sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
• Remove defective parts using hand and power tools, and by examining part condition.
• Determine dimensional changes of parts by inspecting used parts with rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Minimize downtime by informing production workers of preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock levels and anticipating needs.
• Perform PMs on electrical and mechanical equipment and complete maintenance paperwork daily.
• Prepare equipment for daily operation.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Comply with all GMP, regulatory requirements, and company/site policies.
• Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures as required.
