Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Graniteville, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, planning, designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems, equipment, and manufacturing processes. This role involves providing essential engineering support for production equipment, utilities, and auxiliary systems, with a strong focus on improving safety, reliability, efficiency, quality, and throughput. You will play a key role in leading and supporting capital and continuous improvement projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. A commitment to promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, plan, design, develop, and implement mechanical systems, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
• Provide mechanical engineering support for production equipment, utilities, and auxiliary systems.
• Analyze equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, quality, and throughput.
• Develop solutions for equipment-related issues through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, scrap reduction, downtime reduction, and process optimization.
• Lead or support capital and continuous improvement projects, ranging from equipment modifications to major machine installations.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring safety requirements are incorporated into all engineering activities.
• Evaluate existing equipment and systems to identify opportunities for performance improvement and lead reliability improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

• Skills: Mechanical design, CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), FEA analysis, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, project management, data analysis, process optimization, safety regulations, manufacturing processes.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, detail-oriented, proactive, ability to work independently and as part of a team, leadership potential.
