Medical Expert – General Physician (USA)

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced, US-based medical doctors (MDs) or international equivalents (MBBS, MBChB, medical diploma, etc.) to help evaluate and enhance large language model (LLM) outputs in the medical domain. You’ll assess AI-generated clinical content for medical accuracy, safety, and relevance, contributing to the development of responsible AI in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated medical text for accuracy, harmfulness, and completeness.
• Evaluate diagnoses, treatment plans, and summaries for medical cases.
• Provide expert feedback to improve the medical integrity and safety of LLM outputs.
• Collaborate with AI researchers and clinicians to align model performance with evidence-based medical standards.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA.
• Must be a fully licensed, practicing medical doctor (MD) or international equivalent in the USA.
• At least one year of post-residency experience practicing as a general physician; no specific specialization is required.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort using web-based annotation platforms, image tools, detailed guidelines, and structured questionnaires.
• Experience in medical content review, clinical research, annotation, or AI/ML evaluation is preferred.
• Onboarding requires passing a client certification, paid for by Turing. Candidates who do not pass will be offboarded.

Assignment Details

• Contractor assignment with no medical or paid leave.
• 45 positions; expected start as soon as possible.
• Engagement length: 12 weeks.
• Full-time or part-time commitment: 40, 30, or 20 hours per week, with at least four hours of overlap during PST business hours.
• Rate: $120 per hour.
• Strong-fit candidates may be hired based on their resume.
