ML/AI Systems Engineer

Engagement: Short-term contract (4 weeks; approximately one month)

Payment: $25 per approved task; average handling time is 45–60 minutes per task.
Availability: At least 4 hours per day and 40 hours per week, with 4 hours of overlap with PST. The role description also notes 8 hours per day availability.

About the Project

Build LLM evaluation and training datasets for realistic software engineering problems. The work includes creating verifiable software engineering tasks based on public repository histories, using synthetic approaches with human review, and expanding coverage across programming languages and difficulty levels.

About the Role

Seeking a senior AI systems engineer with expertise in multi-step agentic architecture to support an exploratory mathematics research initiative. The role bridges mathematics and technical execution by designing and deploying AI agents for advanced scientific and mathematical workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize multi-step agentic workflows for multi-hop reasoning, hypothesis generation, and technical validation.
  • Work with mathematical researchers to translate proofs and abstract material into structured technical specifications and automated pipelines.
  • Develop reusable architecture, tools, and memory systems for STEM-focused AI agents.
  • Evaluate and improve agent performance, accuracy, reliability, and traceability across execution steps.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience architecting and deploying production-grade, multi-step agentic systems using frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or custom orchestration.
  • Experience building AI/ML applications in mathematics, physics, computer science, quantitative finance, or another STEM domain.
  • Advanced Python skills, including LLM orchestration, structured output generation, tool integration, and state management.
  • Ability to work with subject-matter experts and convert dense academic material into modular software systems.

Work Arrangement and Employment

Fully remote freelance/contractor assignment. No medical benefits or paid leave.
