Overview

The Security Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing physical security, loss prevention, access control, and emergency response activities for a manufacturing facility. This role oversees day-to-day security operations, including management of a contract security company providing guard coverage, and partners with Operations, EHS, Facilities, IT/InfoSec, HR, Supply Chain, and local authorities to help protect people, facilities, assets, and intellectual property.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the site security team, including training staff and contractors, overseeing performance, and coordinating disciplinary actions with HR and guard company management.
• Manage 24/7 security operations and incident response, including shift coverage, escalation, investigations, and emergency drills.
• Oversee the security staff budget and vendor relationship, including monitoring vendor KPI and SLA compliance and overseeing training on post orders.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the facility security program, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee daily security team operations and support efficient completion of assigned tasks.
• Develop and maintain security programs and SOPs for access control, CCTV, perimeter protection, visitor management, key and cylinder control, alarm monitoring, and contractor and vendor access.
• Manage 24/7 security operations, including shift coverage, on-call rotations, incident escalation, and oversight of daily guard activities.
• Lead incident response and investigations involving theft, vandalism, workplace violence, trespass, and other security events; prepare incident reports, root-cause analyses, and lessons learned.
• Manage security budgets and procurement activities; monitor vendor performance and validate invoices.
• Conduct routine security assessments to identify risks and vulnerabilities and develop risk-reduction strategies.
• Monitor surveillance and alarm systems and respond to security breaches and incidents.
• Train employees, contractors, and contracted guards on security awareness; maintain training records and competency tracking.
• Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and internal stakeholders during security emergencies.
• Inspect security equipment, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems; report deficiencies and initiate repair orders.
• Prepare and present management reports on security operations and progress.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in security compliance or law enforcement in a supervisory role, including experience with manufacturing security standards, export-control requirements, and customer security protocols.
• Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. Ability to perform security duties, including standing, walking, patrolling, and responding to emergencies.
• Other: Valid Texas driver’s license required. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the Fort Worth, Texas 76177 area.
