Work Schedule

40–70 hours per week, depending on project demands and workload. Overtime is available and paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate for eligible hours worked.

Summary

The Drywaller safely performs carpentry, drywall, and other assigned tasks on commercial construction sites. This role is responsible for completing work to high quality and safety standards while assisting less experienced team members. The Drywaller reports directly to the Lead Drywaller or Superintendent on site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and other applicable safety standards.
  • Perform construction work to high quality and safety standards.
  • Operate various types of hand and power tools.
  • Inspect and operate aerial equipment, skid steers, and forklifts.
  • Hang, tape, sand, and paint drywall in a timely manner.
  • Unload materials, store them efficiently, and stage the job site for operations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site.
  • Perform demolition and other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Five years of previous drywalling experience.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as required.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Knowledge of construction site practices and occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex directions.
  • Ability to determine the tools and equipment needed for each task.
  • Comfort working in a high-intensity construction environment.
  • Strong motivation, integrity, teamwork, and commitment to quality work.

Working Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Sitting, standing, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work on job sites where temperatures and noise levels may fluctuate.
  • Ability to see, hear, and verbally communicate with coworkers and clients as needed.
  • Near visual acuity to review written documentation.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
