Specialty Window & Door Installation Team Leader

About the Role

Lead a 3–4-person field crew installing specialty window and door systems, including multi-slide and bi-fold doors and windows, pivot doors, motorized retractable screens, and related products. Plan each workday, coordinate site logistics, ensure quality and safety, and serve as the primary on-site point of contact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily crew planning, task assignments, and on-site coordination with general contractors and homeowners.
• Perform and supervise installations, including layout, framing preparation, flashing, setting, plumbing, squaring, sealing, trim integration, testing, and final quality assurance.
• Install and commission manual and motorized specialty systems, including basic electrical coordination with licensed trades.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and manufacturer specifications; verify openings and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot field issues, propose solutions, and escalate them when needed.
• Maintain safety standards and site cleanliness, and complete project documentation, including photos, checklists, and warranty records.
• Train and mentor crew members while upholding company quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong residential construction background with framing and general carpentry skills.
• Basic window and door installation experience required; willingness to train on advanced specialty systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and manufacturer installation instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional approach with clients and trade partners.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfort using lasers, levels, and hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work on ladders or scaffolding while following safety protocols.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Schedule & Travel

• Monday–Friday schedule, with flexibility based on project needs.
• Statewide travel throughout Michigan.
• Occasional overnight travel as required.
