Job Type: Contract Location: North Vernon, IN (100% Onsite) Duration: Approximately 3 months (potential for extension)

Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Finance Manager in all aspects of plant accounting. This role involves analyzing and presenting financial data to facilitate sound business decisions, and providing backup support to the Finance Manager when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination, administration, and maintenance of financial controls, including internal and SOX controls.
• Support the Finance Manager in managing and maintaining the standard cost input process, including material, labor, overhead, and cost roll changes.
• Prepare standard and miscellaneous journal entries for the monthly accounting close.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Collaborate with the inventory manager to ensure accurate accounting and valuation of materials.
• Coordinate with the materials department during physical inventories and reconcile perpetual inventory to the general ledger.
• Provide accounting and reporting guidance on financial transactions to various teams.
• Prepare data and analysis using QAD and other systems for internal and external reporting.
• Assist in preparing monthly forecasts and the annual budget.
• Support the Finance Manager in conducting special projects, cost studies, and new business evaluations, providing data and recommendations for cost reductions and profit improvements.
• Support data requests during internal and external audits.
• Track capital project spending and capitalization.
• Perform other accounting functions as directed by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with an ERP system.
• Cost accounting background is preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with MFG/Pro and QAD systems.
• Familiarity with Agile PLM & IPM Systems.
• Strong business acumen, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform critical evaluations and problem-solving.
• Understanding of ethical practices, health & safety, and customer-specific requirements.
• Awareness of ISO9001/IATF16949/ISO14001 standards.

Additional Information

• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
• This is a contract position expected to last approximately 3 months, covering maternity leave, with a possibility of extension based on business needs.
• The position is 100% onsite in North Vernon, IN, with no hybrid flexibility.
• Interview Process: Two onsite interviews.
• Onsite Requirements: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required when on the production floor, including safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
