Job Overview

As a Product Development Engineer on the Signal Integrity team, you will focus on the electrical design, simulation, and verification and validation testing of high-speed products, including connector and cable assemblies and radio systems. These products support high-speed communications and connectivity in data centers and wireless infrastructure.

You will independently contribute to signal integrity projects involving product and system design, modeling, simulation, testing, and circuit board layout. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, manufacturing, and operations, to develop advanced products. As the subject matter expert for a product or platform’s signal integrity performance, you will contribute from initial analysis through prototype fabrication, evaluation, and production verification testing. You will address challenging design problems and use simulation tools to guide complex designs toward successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in signal integrity design, simulation, and validation throughout the product development cycle.
  • Establish signal integrity design performance and functional requirements for new products.
  • Perform signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards on each product, selecting appropriate simulation methodologies and setups and applying relevant interface criteria.
  • Conduct PCB schematic and layout reviews.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on design reviews and simulation results.
  • Guide connector design and component qualification from a signal integrity perspective, using data-driven analysis to inform product functionality and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience in electrical design, RF design, or PCB design.
  • Proficiency with signal integrity analysis tools such as Agilent ADS, Ansys HFSS, CST, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory and electrical circuit behavior.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to interpret simulation and laboratory data, identify issues, and develop solutions.
  • Familiarity with printed circuit board design, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, to facilitate communication with internal teams and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a global environment, including collaborating across geographies and accommodating varying time zones.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and contribute effectively to team projects.
