Staff Software Engineer (Full-Stack & AI Agents) — San Francisco, CA

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with 8+ years of experience to join our high-impact engineering team. You will be the technical anchor, building AI agents that accelerate clinical trials. This is a hands-on role where you will write and review code daily, mentor three junior engineers, and define best practices for engineering excellence. You will collaborate cross-functionally with product, customer success, and founders to ideate and ship new, foundational products for a platform already used by over 400 research sites. This is a unique opportunity to shape engineering culture, processes, and architecture from the ground up at a seed-stage company backed by over $7M from SignalFire and Define Ventures.

What will you be doing?

• Own and build AI-powered products end-to-end, from ideation through shipping. This includes developing agentic workflows and LLM-powered features with production-grade evaluations.
• Serve as the technical lead and mentor for a team of three junior engineers, establishing best practices for code reviews, engineering processes, and team workflows.
• Partner closely with the CTO, Product Management team, and Customer Success to understand customer needs and shape new, foundational products.
• Architect and deliver robust full-stack applications, encompassing frontend, backend, infrastructure, and data pipelines.

Role details

• Salary: $210,000–$260,000
• Work policy: Hybrid, with three days in the office in the Financial District, San Francisco (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday).
