Schedule
- Training schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
- Expected schedule after training: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Position Summary
The Storeroom Attendant is an individual contributor working at a customer location. This role supports daily receiving, stocking, issuing, inventory cycle counting, and recordkeeping for customer and/or Vallen inventory. The employee is expected to maintain a professional, clean, organized, and safe work environment while providing direct customer support.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload, receive, inspect, and put away incoming products, goods, tools, and equipment.
- Check shipments for damage and discrepancies against invoices or receiving documentation.
- Sort, label, move, store, and organize inventory on racks, shelves, and bins according to product codes, size, style, or other defined sequences.
- Issue parts, tools, materials, and equipment to site employees, and maintain records for issued and returned items.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory-level maintenance, periodic inventory, and perpetual inventory reporting.
- Enter inventory transactions and stock information into computerized systems using a computer, iPad, and scanning equipment.
- Retrieve inventory information to respond to inquiries regarding stock levels, delivery schedules, and item availability.
- Document inventory discrepancies and report issues to management for corrective action.
- Request replenishment requisitions as needed.
- Inspect tools and equipment for defects, damage, or wear, and report findings to supervisors.
- Deliver tools and equipment to employee work locations.
- Investigate and locate lost or misplaced equipment and safety supplies.
- May repair, service, or lubricate tools and equipment as needed.
- May fill vending machines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 3 months of relevant warehouse experience and/or training.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Experience or aptitude in loading, unloading, picking, packing, and moving goods in a warehouse environment.
- Forklift and/or cherry picker experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computers, iPads, and scanning equipment.
- Familiarity with MS Office, Vista, Control, SX.e, or Prophet 21 preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work orders, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Strong communication, customer service, teamwork, attention to detail, and safety awareness skills.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Work takes place in a warehouse that is not temperature-controlled and may be hot in summer or cold in winter.
- Frequent walking and standing in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and at least 25 lbs or more with assistance, following safety procedures.
- Ability to use a manual pallet jack.
- Occasional ladder climbing up to approximately 6–8 feet.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance regularly.
- Steel-toe shoes are required.
- May be required to wear additional PPE, including gloves and protective eyewear.
- May be required to obtain forklift or other warehouse-equipment certifications.
- Overtime, shift changes, evening work, weekend work, and rotating schedules may be required based on business needs.
