This role is an individual contributor positioned within a customer’s location to fulfill daily receiving, stocking, issuing, and cycle counting of customer and/or Vallen inventory. The Storeroom Attendant is responsible for maintaining a professional, clean, and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Unload, receive, and put away incoming product, goods, tools, and/or equipment.
  • Unpack bales, crates, and other containers; check for damage and discrepancies between goods and invoices.
  • Accurately sort, label, move, and store items.
  • Place material or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences (e.g., size, style, product codes).
  • Arrange storage to optimize crib space.
  • Issue product, goods, tools, and/or equipment to site employees.
  • Document and maintain accurate records for issued and returned items.
  • Enter data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records.
  • Retrieve stored information to respond to inquiries (e.g., inventory levels, delivery schedules).
  • Document discrepancies on an error log and seek management advice for corrective action.
  • Request requisitions to replenish inventory.
  • Assist with inventory level maintenance; perform cycle counts and prepare report results.
  • Inspect and measure tools/equipment for defects, wear and tear, and report damage or wear to supervisors.
  • Prepare periodic inventory or maintain perpetual inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Deliver tools or equipment to associate work locations.
  • Investigate and locate lost or misplaced equipment or safety supplies.
  • May repair, service, and lubricate tools and equipment as required.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

Requirements

  • 3+ months of relevant experience and/or training.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).
  • Client-specific background screening required.
  • Steel toe shoes required.
  • Candidates should demonstrate experience or aptitude in:
    • Loading, unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods in a warehouse environment.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency, or a demonstrated technical aptitude to learn (preferred technical skills include MS-Office products, Vista, Control, SX.e, Prophet 21).
    • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals); ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent preferred.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
    • Attention to detail and safety-mindedness.

Shift Details

  • 2nd SHIFT: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • Training: First 1-2 weeks will be on 1st shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM).

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • May be required to wear various forms of protective equipment (shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.).
  • May be required to pass warehouse equipment certifications (written and/or driving).
  • Assigned work shifts may vary and/or rotate.
  • Overtime may be required; extended day, evening, and weekend work may be required as job duties demand and may include little to no advance notice.
  • Must be able to handle and work physical inventory; required to lift up to 25 lbs or greater with assistance following standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Other physical requirements include regularly being required to stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.
