Overview

The Storeroom Attendant is an individual contributor responsible for fulfilling daily receiving, stocking, issuing, and cycle counting of customer and/or Vallen inventory within a customer's location. This role requires maintaining a professional, clean, and organized work environment.

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Overtime is rare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving, cycle counting, and inventory management.
  • Issue parts and materials to employees.
  • Load vending machines and Point of Use (POU) areas.
  • Unload, receive, and put away incoming product, goods, tools, and equipment.
  • Check for damage and discrepancies between goods and invoices.
  • Accurately sort, label, move, and store items.
  • Place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence.
  • Document and maintain accurate records for issued and returned items.
  • Enter data into a computerized system to maintain stock records.
  • Retrieve stored information to respond to inquiries (e.g., inventory levels, delivery schedules).
  • Document discrepancies and seek management advice for corrective action.
  • Request requisitions to replenish inventory.
  • Perform cycle counts and prepare report results.
  • Inspect and measure tools/equipment for defects and wear, reporting damage to supervisors.
  • Prepare periodic inventory or maintain perpetual inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Deliver tools or equipment to associate work locations.
  • Investigate and locate lost or misplaced equipment or safety supplies.
  • May repair, service, and lubricate tools and equipment as required.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ months of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).
  • Skills & Aptitude:
    • Experience loading, unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods in a warehouse environment.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency; demonstrated technical aptitude to learn.
    • Preferred technical skills: MS-Office products, Vista, Control, SX.e, Prophet 21.
    • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide); ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent preferred.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated.
    • Attention to detail and safety-minded.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
    • Regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
    • Required vision capabilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment:
    • May be required to wear protective equipment (steel toe shoes required, gloves, eyewear).
    • May be required to pass warehouse equipment certifications.
    • Assigned work shifts may vary and/or rotate.
    • Overtime may be required.
