Job Summary
The QA/QC Engineer will oversee quality assurance and quality control activities for mechanical engineering and construction projects in refinery and petrochemical environments. The role is responsible for ensuring that materials, construction activities, inspections, testing, documentation, and project processes comply with applicable codes, standards, client specifications, and ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage quality control activities across mechanical construction, plant maintenance, shutdown, revamp, and industrial project operations.
- Prepare, maintain, and review QA/QC documentation, including inspection requests, test results, calibration certificates, material certificates, non-conformance reports, site observations, and inspection records.
- Develop inspection and test plans, quality procedures, method statements, risk assessments, and job safety and environmental analyses.
- Inspect materials and verify vendor documentation, certificates, specifications, and compliance before use at the project site.
- Supervise testing and inspection activities to ensure compliance with approved schedules, project requirements, applicable codes, and international standards.
- Coordinate with clients, technical engineers, site in-charges, contractors, vendors, and internal departments regarding material submittals, audits, inspections, and quality approvals.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the project quality management system, analyze quality performance, identify non-conformities, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications
- Skills: QA/QC inspection, ISO 9001:2015 quality systems, mechanical construction quality control, inspection and test planning, material verification, vendor documentation review, non-conformance management, quality audits, and technical reporting.
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years with a reputed organization in refinery, petrochemical, industrial construction, plant maintenance, shutdown, or revamp projects.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, technically sound, organized, analytical, safety-conscious, collaborative, and capable of coordinating effectively with clients and multidisciplinary site teams.
