Position Overview

The Quality Control (QC) Engineer inspects and tests manufactured products, documents defects, verifies corrective actions, and supports compliance with quality standards and continuous improvement. This role works closely with production staff, engineers, and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and tests on PCBAs to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and document defects or issues in manufacturing processes and products.
  • Verify corrective actions and confirm that they prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in Kaizen projects and other initiatives to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Train and guide production staff on quality standards and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare quality issue and improvement reports for management review.
  • Lead or support quality investigations with cross-functional teams, including PD, IE, SQE, and ME.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Conduct and maintain PFMEA to identify potential quality risks and define control measures.
  • Update QC inspection checklists based on product changes, process modifications, and customer requirements.
  • Track, review, and approve feedback in inspection systems to support maintenance and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with QA functions in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of quality tools such as Pareto charts, histograms, and check sheets.
  • Familiarity with the electronics industry.
  • Basic experience with, or willingness to learn, electronic assembly and inspection procedures.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to identify workmanship defects.
  • Reliable, cooperative, and able to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous training and improvement under supervisor guidance.

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office and production-floor environments.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods during inspections.
  • Occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 25 lb.
  • Exposure to manufacturing noise and machinery; personal protective equipment is provided.
