Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) experience in a perioperative setting.

Vaccination Requirements

• Flu vaccine required.
• COVID-19 vaccine required.

Clinical Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (or compact license, if applicable to Rhode Island).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification is preferred.
• Required experience in surgical procedures including C-sections, D&C, PPTL, and D&E.

Responsibilities

As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for:

• Providing comprehensive perioperative care to surgical patients in recovery, procedure, and operating rooms.
• Maintaining operating room readiness by stocking sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies.
• Developing and implementing individualized nursing care plans for surgical patients.
• Preparing patients for surgery, including cleaning and disinfecting operative sites.
• Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Adhering to sterile techniques when handling medical instruments and equipment throughout the perioperative process.
• Collaborating effectively with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals regarding patient medication and post-operative care.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and updating medical files.
• Assisting with the ordering, maintenance, and safe storage of surgical equipment and supplies.
• Educating patients on post-surgery care instructions and addressing any questions or concerns.
