Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) - Contract

Department: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Job Type: Contractual

Shift: 19:00 - 07:30, Monday to Friday

Hours Per Week: 36 Hours

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive, round-the-clock care to premature and critically ill newborn infants.
  • Attend to the fundamental needs of infants, including feeding and hygiene.
  • Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans, evaluating treatment efficacy.
  • Offer comfort and support to infants, parents, and their families.
  • Educate families on the at-home care of their newborn.

Requirements:

  • Licensure & Certifications:
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (or compact license, if applicable to RI).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
    • STABLE certification.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1-2 years of recent NICU experience (Level II/III).
    • Experience with ventilated and high-acuity neonates is preferred.
  • Systems:
    • Proficiency with EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Vaccinations:
    • Mandatory flu vaccination.
    • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination.
