Overview

We are seeking experienced Order Selectors to support distribution center operations at the Bellevue Milk Plant. In this role, you will select and palletize dairy, refrigerated, and other perishable products using voice-directed technology and a ride-on electric pallet jack in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Position Details

  • Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States, 98004
  • Shift: First shift, 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
  • Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday
  • Openings: 3
  • Assignment: Initial 60-day assignment with potential conversion to full-time employment based on attendance, performance, and safety adherence

Responsibilities

  • Use a voice-directed order selection system to accurately select full-case dairy, refrigerated, and other perishable products.
  • Operate a ride-on electric pallet jack to pick and transport products throughout the warehouse.
  • Wear a voice-picking headset throughout the shift.
  • Build stable pallets and prepare orders for shipment to local stores.
  • Select orders accurately and efficiently while meeting productivity standards.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
  • At least one year of recent order selecting experience.
  • Previous experience operating an electric pallet jack.
  • Ability to obtain Safeway certification to operate electric pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, stack, and move products weighing up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift products to shoulder height and overhead.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment of approximately 34°F–37°F throughout the shift.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced warehouse environment with moving equipment and machinery.
  • Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be required based on business needs.
  • Compliance with all safety requirements and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Teamwork and professionalism in a unionized work environment.

Hiring Process

  • Qualified candidates will be invited to a 30-minute onsite interview.
  • Candidates may be asked to demonstrate relevant warehouse experience.

Dress Code and Required Equipment

  • Safety shoes are required on the first day. Close-toed, slip-resistant shoes alone do not meet this requirement.
  • Dress appropriately for a refrigerated warehouse environment.
