Role Overview
Provide advanced technical expertise in gas turbine systems while supporting commissioning, startup, and operations for power and energy infrastructure, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and generation assets.
Responsibilities
- Support safe and efficient commissioning and system turnover, including coordination of factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), systemization, and punch-list closure.
- Execute commissioning plans, procedures, and test protocols.
- Review technical test reports and complete commissioning records and technical reports.
- Prepare and deliver technical briefings, commissioning-readiness reviews, and post-event summaries for project leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Identify root causes of equipment issues and implement corrective actions to support safe and reliable operations.
- Adopt new technologies and support operational efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support commissioning efforts.
Qualifications
- Industry experience maintaining or troubleshooting gas turbine engines.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or two-year technical degree preferred.
- Experience with Siemens SGT-800 and A-35 gas turbines preferred.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as the top priority.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PC applications.
- Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and travel between locations.
- Ability to work in extreme conditions and at elevated levels while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Work Schedule and Physical Requirements
- Twelve-hour, seven-days-on/seven-days-off rotating shifts.
- Occasional night, holiday, and shift work.
- Work in extreme temperatures, loud areas, and confined spaces.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and team-lift heavier loads.
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, and squat for extended periods.
- Work at elevated levels using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts with appropriate PPE.
- Use hand tools and mechanical diagnostic equipment.
